I’ve never imported a home from overseas, what’s the process like? First, we need to complete the order through eBay checkout or our website on a mutual price we both can agree on. we also accept T/T bank transfers. Once the payment is confirmed, we will begin the process of designing your unconfirmed floor-plans of the building to you. You can keep the copies for reference as well as when it comes time for the inspection of your new home at your location, you will need to provide additional documents to your local building authorities for total approval for living in the container home.

Duties, local state taxes, terminal fees, brokerage fees and any other fees associated in importing our container homes are the responsibility of the buyer. There is no duty charges on our container homes to the USA or Canada. Some examples we recommend for a foundation are simple 8-12″ wooden square logs on the ground or round wooden 8-12″ long logs on the ground, concrete pier blocks, measured and placed at each corner and/or in the middle, concrete pier blocks with a wooden structure placed in between each pier, a patio deck structure partially with top-board for the deck and no top-board (only wooden deck foundation) for each container to stand on, or a 30’x50′ or longer driveway of concrete slab with a recessed 6″-9″ for the container home to be fitted perfectly within the slab concrete, flat concrete basement measured to size for the containers to stand on or a concrete garage housing below measured to fit the container home on top of it, filling, squaring and sealing it perfectly to size and concealing it to make it a suitable place to live and park your favorite vehicles underneath

Additional steps will be required with a concrete foundation to complete the home to building code specifications. ***These are some of the examples you can plan for with your GC or Engineer.**Examples above are ideas that may or may not be suitable in your area due to codes and violations of the IRC, CEC or any other standard that is governed by the state or province in North America. *Consult with your local building authorities to verify the requirements of building your home properly and fully to the extent of the law. Once the construction is completed, the delivery time between Mainland China and North America, specifically the Pacific west coast delivery time is between 25 to 35 days and if you’re in the Atlantic east coast, shipping varies from 30 to 45 days. In Canada such as Vancouver, BC, lead time is also between 25 and 35 days. For other countries, please message us and we will find out the delivery time for your country. Will I have to do anything else after I receive my home? Some preparation work will be required for a fully installed container home. You will be required to assist your freight/boom truck company in moving each container home from the trailer to the foundation. You will be required to check for all damages and defective parts/workmanship of the house during the first 10 days of assembly to make sure everything was delivered properly to your location.

You will be required to fully waterproof the home if purchasing more than 1 container to assemble using backer rod and insulation to fill the gaps in the assembly of the 2 or more containers. You will be required to have your power, water, and sewage connected to your city lines or your off-grid setup. You will be required to complete the partial installation if you purchased one of our solar systems as we cannot install the solar panels and the roof mount rack on the roof during transport. You will be required to build your foundation for the property as we have no control over the planning and surveying of the foundation. You will be required to test and inspect the living space for any problems within the 365 days we offer our warranty on any workmanship and defective parts that may be deemed unusable, unsafe, or broken due to defects.

You will be required to contact us if workmanship or defective problems occur. Please note that we cannot move loaded containers, and strongly recommend that customers who are exporting their container work with their shipping company to pick up the container after the survey is complete.

Each storage container is durable, secure, and weatherproof. The Warranty Coverage Period for New ISO shipping containers is ten years from the date of purchase from Inter-modal Container Ltd. The Warranty Coverage Period for Used Cargo Worthy ISO shipping containers is five years from the date of purchase from Inter-modal Container Ltd. A leak-proof unit guarantee is included.

During the warranty period, Inter-modal Container Ltd. will repair, using new or refurbished replacement parts, or replace units or parts of a container at no charge. The container must prove defective because of improper material or workmanship, under normal use and maintenance.
